The Seahorse Doula

The Seahorse Doula is an advocate and educator, helping people navigate their family planning, reproductive health, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys by holding space and helping to empower all involved, through using evidence-based research, holistic methods, and compassion.

The male seahorse is famously known to give birth. 

This simple sea creature alone challenges what scientists and most people know of reproduction, childbirth, heteronormative and cisnormative family structures, which is where I got the idea for calling myself the Seahorse Doula. By challenging society's norms of what it means to be family, I hope to advocate for and support any birthing person/new family who needs assistance with welcoming their new edition the family.
